Allie Green, a freshman, has been stepping up big in her first season with the Waves. She's averaging 11.1 points a game, including a season-high 27 at Long Beach State. One of the team leaders, Bria Richardson, says Allie is just getting started, and that fans can expect to see much more from her. Here are some thoughts from Green:

Q: What is your favorite Christmas tradition?

A: My favorite Christmas tradition is when we decorate the tree and my dad puts the angel on top of the tree. That's a tradition my family does every year.

Q: Why did you choose Pepperdine?

A: I chose Pepperdine because it made me feel comfortable as soon as I stepped on campus and met the team and the coaches. I also liked the academics and the Christian atmosphere that I would be in.

Q: How did your first set of college finals go?

A: They were definitely tough but I pulled through and did my best on every final exam that I took this semester.

Q: What are your plans to celebrate now that exams are over?

A: I plan to now focus on basketball and taking advantage of the time I will have with my family.

Q: If you could challenge one Pepperdine staff or faculty member on the court who would it be?

A: I would challenge (Assistant) Coach Mallorie (Winn) because she is a good competitor and it would it would feel good to beat my coach, ha ha!
