What is your favorite Thanksgiving tradition?
My parents always want us together as a family on any given holiday. They go to the extreme. For example, this Thanksgiving, they flew me out to Nashville the night before Thanksgiving so that we could be together as a family in Tennessee on Thanksgiving since my brother had a football game. Well, I had practice the day after Thanksgiving so I was in Nashville for all of 24 hours and flew back the very next morning.
Why did you chose Pepperdine?
I came to Pepperdine because I wanted to go to a school that would allow me to graduate with an impressive degree for the future. I want to use my athletic abilities as a vehicle toward a degree that will open doors for me and give me opportunities that not just any school could.
Are you nervous about finals?
I am doing very well in my classes. Our coaching staff stresses that school always comes first and we will compete academically and athletically at a very high level. Coach Ryan (Weisenberg) holds us to a very high standard when it comes to our academics. I am nervous for my finals. I'll leave it at that.
Do you have plans to celebrate after finals?
Honestly, the feeling of just not having to stress about school for a good month is enough that I do not even need to celebrate. However, I will be giving my brain a mental vacation.
What do you want to do after graduation?
This is thinking way too far ahead for me considering I don't even know what I want for a Christmas present from my Grandma when she asked, or even what I want for dinner tonight. But, I guess after college I know I want to do something involved with business and marketing in the sports industry. This is why I am beyond excited about the new sports administration major because it plays right into my future plans.
If you could challenge one Pepperdine staff/faculty member on the court who would it be?
Well, I've already actually challenged the person I would want to and that is Marv Dunphy. He is not only a legendary volleyball coach here, but most people don't know he plays a mean game of horse and I beat him. I never let him forget it when I see him, which is like everyday.
