MALIBU, Calif. - The Pepperdine University Department of Athletics and Sport Chalet, a specialty sporting goods retailer, have entered a three-year partnership in which Sport Chalet will be the exclusive apparel and equipment provider to the Waves' athletic teams.
"We are very pleased to be aligned with a local company that prides itself on stellar customer service and outstanding quality," Pepperdine Director of Athletics Dr. Steve Potts said. "Our experience thus far with Sport Chalet has been excellent. Our ability to outfit our teams has been made much more efficient, and we look forward to a long and fruitful partnership with Sport Chalet."
In addition to creating convenient access to top apparel and equipment offered by Sport Chalet, this collaboration also includes the following benefits:
-- Existing and new Sport Chalet Action Pass members will have the opportunity within their account profile to designate Pepperdine University as their school of choice. Upon selection, Sport Chalet will automatically donate 3.3 percent of every purchase by the corresponding Action Pass member (in store or online) to the Waves' athletics program.
-- Sport Chalet's Thousand Oaks location will offer Pepperdine merchandise to help fans, spectators and alumni get in the school spirit.
Sport Chalet Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Craig Levra said: "We are passionate about supporting athletes at all levels, and the collegiate arena is increasingly breeding top talent. Together with Pepperdine University's Department of Athletics, we deliver a convenient and reliable channel to equip team members with the proper gear and apparel needed for training and competition. Additionally, we created an easy avenue through our Action Pass program that now allows the student body, fan and alumni communities to give back to Pepperdine's athletics program."

About Pepperdine Athletics
Pepperdine University boasts a one-of-a-kind athletic department with unprecedented success for a school of its size. The Waves have won NCAA Division I championships in five different men's sports - one of just 16 schools to have accomplished this feat - and nine overall. Of this elite group, Pepperdine has the smallest undergraduate enrollment and is the only school not affiliated with a BCS-level conference. The Waves have earned the Division I-AAA All-Sports Trophy, an award based on postseason success that's given to the top non-football school, three times (most recently in 2011-12). Located in scenic Malibu, Calif., the university overlooks the Pacific Ocean and its campus and athletic facilities are regularly voted among the nation's most beautiful. Pepperdine, which is affiliated with the Church of Christ, ranks #57 overall on U.S. News and World Report's list of America's best colleges. More information is available at www.pepperdinesports.com.
