Track Teams Run at San Francisco State Distance Carnival

Hayley Lytle set the school record in the women's 10,000 meters by nearly 14 seconds.

After her graduation in fall 2013 with a degree in sports medicine, Hayley Lytle will remain with the Pepperdine cross country and track teams as an assistant coach in 2014-15.

Following is her biography as a student-athlete:

PEPPERDINE TRACK 2013: Ran at three track meets as a senior... Set the school record in the 10,000 meters with a time of 37:22.25 at San Francisco State (3/29) ... Also ran the 5,000 meters twice with a best of 18:19.67 at UC Irvine (3/22).

PEPPERDINE TRACK 2012: Did not compete in track as a junior.

PEPPERDINE TRACK 2011: Did not compete in track as a sophomore.

PEPPERDINE TRACK 2010: Did not compete as a freshman in track.

PEPPERDINE XC 2013: Ran in only three meets as a senior, but made a big impact ... Was the Waves' #2 runner at both the WCC Championships (22:41) and NCAA West Regional (21:48).

PEPPERDINE XC 2012: Rejoined the program midseason as a redshirt junior and established herself as the team's top runner ... Led the Waves to the finish line in each of her three races, including the WCC Championships and NCAA West Regional ... Took sixth overall at the Northridge Collegiate Invitational 5k in 18:29.22 ... Best 6k was 22:08.55 at the NCAA West Regional.

PEPPERDINE XC 2011: Did not compete in cross country as a junior and utilized a redshirt season.

PEPPERDINE XC 2010: Did not compete in cross country as a sophomore.

PEPPERDINE XC 2009: As a freshman, competed at three 5K invitationals hosted by UC Irvine, UC Riverside and Cal State Bakersfield ... Posted a season best 5K of 21:49.60 at CSUB's Roadrunner Invitational.

HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated from Huntington Beach (Calif.) High School in 2009 ... Two-year letterwinner for head coach Kareen Nilsson ... Received school's Al Reboin Award as a junior.

PERSONAL: Born in Irvine, Calif. ... Daughter of Chuck and Bonnie Lytle ... Sister to Amalia ... Qualified for the 2012 and 2013 Half Ironman World Championships ... Majoring in sports medicine with a minor in coaching.

FAVORITES: Favorites include Outliers (book), Disturbia (movie), frozen yogurt (food) and triathlon (sport other than running).
