Cajero Breaks School Record at UCI Spring Break Invitational

Pepperdine's next event is the Cal Poly Invitational next weekend.

PEPPERDINE TRACK 2010: Set the varsity record in the 800m, clocking a time of 1:55.33 at the Rafer Johnson/Jackie Joyner-Kersee Invitational (4/9) ... Competed in the 800m at five other invitationals and posted the team's six fastest times ... Posted Pepperdine's four best times in the 1500m and just missed breaking Chris Ogle's varsity record (3:59.28) in this event by .36 seconds at the Mt. SAC Relays (4/16) with a time of 3:59.64.

HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated as a scholar athlete in 2009 from Winston Churchill (Md.) High School, where he was a four-year varsity letterwinner in the 800, 1600 and cross country 5K for head coach Steve Bettis ... Career best marks include 16:01 (5K), 4:23.7 (1600m), 1:58.2 (800), 7:58.8 (4x800) and 3:25.9 (4x400) ... Helped lead indoor track 4x800-meter relay team to the 2009 Montgomery County and 4A West Regional Championships ... His 4x800 relay set a Montgomery County indoor record with a time of 8:05.9 ... Relay also was ranked as high as second in the nation in 2009 (flat track indoors) ... Team Captain and MVP ... Named to the All-Montgomery County first team as a senior (XC and indoor track) ... Received best newcomer awards for indoor and outdoor track and field and cross country ... Competed at three Penn Relays, several 4A Maryland State Championship meets as well as the Nike Indoor and Cross Country Nationals ... PERSONAL: Born in Silver Spring, Md. ... Majoring in sports medicine ... Son of Brian and Betsy King ... Brother of Allison, who runs cross country at Northwestern University ... Mother, Betsy, ran for Wake Forest University ... Traveled to Scotland, England, El Salvador and Japan, where he climbed Mt. Fuji ...
