CLAREMONT, Calif. - Junior Wesley Blundell of the Pepperdine track team posted his second school record in a little more than a week as he finished in third place in the men's 10,000 meters at the Cal-Nevada Championships on Saturday night.

Blundell (Brush Prairie, Wash./Prairie HS) previously set the school record in the 5,000 meters on March 23 at the UC Irvine Spring Break Collegiate Invitational.

Tonight, he took nearly a minute off his own record - set at this very meet in 2010 with a time of 32:13.13 -- in the 10,000 meters. On Saturday, he ran the race in a time of 31:19.00, and took third out of 19 competitors.

The school record was the seventh overall set by the Waves' runners this season.

Blundell was the only member of Pepperdine's track team running this weekend. The squad will be back in action at the San Francisco State Distance Carnival on Friday (April 6) and the Stanford Invitational next Saturday (April 7).
