Track Teams Compete at Cal State L.A. Invitational
Jonathan Rahaeuser, Syrii Daniel and Katie Engel highlighted the teams' efforts.

Jonathan Rahaeuser set the school record in the men's 1,500 meters and Syrii Daniel posted the Pepperdine track teams' best times of the season in the women's 100 and 200 meters, leading the Waves at the Cal State Los Angeles Invitational on Saturday.
Rahaeuser (Irvine, Calif./Calvary Chapel HS), a senior, broke his own record by .25 of a second, as he finished seventh out of 58 runners in a time of 3:58.44. He previously set the record in 2012.
Daniel (Yucaipa, Calif./Yucaipa HS), a freshman, had times of 12.70 in the 100 and 25.88 in the 200, best of any Wave this season. Her time in the 100 keeps her at #4 on Pepperdine's all-time top five list, while her time in the 200 moves her into the #3 slot.
Freshman Katie Engel (Honoye Falls, N.Y./Honeoye Falls-Lima HS) also turned in a season-best time by any Pepperdine runner in the women's 3,000 meters. She won her heat in a time of 10:45.25.
Other individuals leading the Waves in various events were freshman Hanna Kristensen (Gresham, Ore./Gresham HS) in the women's 1,500 meters, senior Kasey Ullery (Simi Valley, Calif./Simi Valley HS/Moorpark College) in the women's 400, freshman Rachel Rant (Boise, Idaho/Boise HS) in the women's 800, senior Juliet Casillas (Los Angeles, Calif./Folsom HS) in the women's 400 hurdles and freshman Mark Vega (Orange, Calif./Villa Park HS) in the men's 800.
Also, junior Channing Williamson (Kennesaw, Ga./North Cobb HS) won a heat in the women's 400 meters.
Pepperdine competes again at the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational next Saturday (April 13).
