MALIBU, Calif. - The Pepperdine track team's fourth meet of the season is on Saturday when the Waves take part in the Northridge Invitational, hosted by Cal State Northridge.
The meet is expected to run rain or shine at the Northridge Track Complex, though Pepperdine Coach Robert Radnoti isn't too concerned about the weather.
"As we move into second part of the season we're excited about where we are right now," he said. "Our students like the inclement weather, they're tough kids and they want to get out there and compete. If it rains, if it pours, they'll be excited about it. We've done a lot of mental preparation for adverse conditions and I think we'll set a lot of PRs again on Saturday."
The meet begins at 8:40 a.m. and is expected to run until about 6 p.m.
Four school records have already been set in the season's first three meets: senior Aneasha Lawrence (Simi Valley, Calif./Village Christian HS) in the women's mile and senior Lauren Lodge (Hopkinton, Mass./Hopkinton HS) in both the women's 3,000 and 5,000 meters, as well as the women's 1,600-meter sprint medley, which consisted of Lawrence and juniors Summer Enalen (Temecula, Calif./Chaparral HS), Sara Woods-Decker (Phoenix, Ariz./Horizon Honors HS/Chandler-Gilbert CC) and Kasey Ullery (Simi Valley, Calif./Simi Valley HS/Moorpark College).
