This was the final tuneup for the Waves' top runners before the West Coast Conference Championships.

The Waves broke in a big group of new student-athletes, as 10 of the 11 women's runners were freshmen.


Sixty-Three Waves Make WCC Commissioner's Honor Roll

The nine WCC schools put a total of 1,093 student-athletes on the list from the 13 sports that the conference sponsors, which is another new conference record.

PEPPERDINE XC 2012: Ran at three meets as a senior ... Was the Waves' #3 runner at one of them ... Had a season-best 8k time of 29:56.1 at the Mark Covert Classic.

PEPPERDINE TRACK 2012: Did not run track as a junior.

PEPPERDINE XC 2011: WCC Commissioner's Honor Roll "bronze" honors ... Pepperdine Scholar-Athlete ... Did not compete in any races a junior.

PEPPERDINE TRACK 2011: Did not run track as a sophomore.

PEPPERDINE XC 2010: Pepperdine Scholar-Athlete ... WCC All-Academic honorable mention ... Earned WCC Commissioner's Honor Roll "bronze" honors ... Student-Athlete Advisory Committee Representative to the West Coast Conference ... Missed close to entire sophomore season due to injury following first three meets of the year at Malibu, UC Irvine and Sundodger ... Led Pepperdine to the finish line at the Seattle-based Sundodger meet with a season-best 8K time of 25:48.84 ... Finished as the Waves' No. 2 runner (and second overall) at the Malibu Oceanside Open with a 5K mark of 16:18.57 ... Posted an 8K time of 26:36.9 at the UCI/Asics Invite.

PEPPERDINE TRACK 2010: As a freshman, set the varsity record in the 800m, clocking a time of 1:55.33 at the Rafer Johnson/Jackie Joyner-Kersee Invitational (4/9) ... Competed in the 800m at five other invitationals and posted the team's six fastest times ... Posted Pepperdine's four best times in the 1500m and just missed breaking Chris Ogle's varsity record (3:59.28) in this event by .36 seconds at the Mt. SAC Relays (4/16) with a time of 3:59.64.

PEPPERDINE XC 2009: Pepperdine Scholar-Athlete ... Earned WCC Commissioner's Honor Roll "bronze" honors ... Competed at seven invitationals as a freshman, including the WCC (10/31) and NCAA West Regional Championships (11/14) ... Finished fourth among Pepperdine's runners on the 10K regional course at the Springfield (Ore.) Country Club, recording a time of 34:43.76 ... Was the Waves' No. 6 runner at Crystal Springs and finished the 8K conference course in 27:15 ... Clocked his fastest 8K time of the year (27:00) at Santa Clara's Bronco Invitational (10/17).

HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated from Winston Churchill High School, located in Potomac, Md., in 2009 ... A scholar-athlete ... A four-year varsity letterwinner in the 800, 1600 and cross country 5K for head coach Steve Bettis ... Career best marks include 16:01 (5K), 4:23.7 (1600m), 1:58.2 (800), 7:58.8 (4x800) and 3:25.9 (4x400) ...
