Cross Country Ends Season at NCAA West Regional

A pair of seniors led the Waves to their respective finish lines, just as they've done for the majority of the season.


Twelve Waves Earn WCC All-Academic Honors for Cross Country

Lauren Lodge, a senior who was the Waves' top finisher at last weekend's WCC Championships, is the first Pepperdine woman to earn three-time first team all-academic honors.

Pepperdine will close out cross country season at the NCAA West Regional, hosted by Stanford, on Saturday, Nov. 12.

PEPPERDINE 2011: WCC All-Academic honorable mention ... WCC Commissioner's Honor Roll "bronze" honors ... Pepperdine Scholar-Athlete ... Ran in all six races as a senior ... Had a season-best performance at the UC Irvine Invitational, where she finished third among the Waves and had a time of 18:54 in the 5k ... Her best 6k time was 23:14 at the WCC Championships.

PEPPERDINE 2010: WCC All-Academic honorable mention ... Pepperdine Scholar-Athlete ... Earned WCC Commissioner's Honor Roll "bronze" honors ... As a junior, competed at six events including both postseason meets at the WCC Championships and NCAA West Regionals ... Placed third among Pepperdine runners at the conference meet with a 36th-place and season-best 6K mark of 23:03 ... Finished the NCAA course in Springfield, Ore., in 23:46.64 ... Recorded her best 5K of the season (18:36.4) at the Santa Clara Bronco Invitational.

Competed at seven events as a sophomore including the WCC and NCAA West Regional Championships and finished as Pepperdine's No. 7 runner at both postseason meets ... Clocked a 6K mark of 24:16 on the conference's course at Crystal Springs (Calif.) ... Recorded a 6K time of 25:32.94 at the regional course in Springfield, Ore. ... Finished among the top 20 at 5K invitationals hosted by UC Riverside and Cal State Bakersfield ... Posted a season best 5K time of 19:00.00 at Bakersfield's Roadrunner Invitational.

PEPPERDINE 2008: Pepperdine Scholar-Athlete ... Earned WCC Commisioner's Honor Roll "silver" standing ... As a freshman, finished fifth for Pepperdine at both the conference (11/1) and NCAA West Regional (11/5) meets ... Completed the West Coast Conference 6K course at Crystal Springs in 24:10 ... Recorded a season best 6K time of 23:14.61 at regionals ... In her collegiate debut, finished fourth among all Pepperdine runners and ninth overall at the Malibu Oceanside Open dual vs. Loyola Marymount (8/30) with a time of 19:23 ... Served as Pepperdine's fifth-fastest runner at back-to-back meets at UC Irvine (9/6) and Hawai'i (9/20) ... Finished the UCI 5K course in 19:07.60 and the Big Wave 4K course in 15:39.45, just missing the top 20.

HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated from Murrieta (Calif.) Valley High School in 2008 ... Graduated with honors ... A three-year varsity letterwinner in cross country and track and field for head coach Steve Chavez ... Career bests times include a 17:36 in the three-mile run, a 5:18 in the 1,600 and a 11:11 in the 3,200 ... Won two Southwestern League and Riverside County cross country team titles in 2005 and 2007 ... Helped lead track and field teams to league titles in 2006 and 2007 ... Three-time all-league team selection ... As a senior, received the Coach Edge Memorial Award and was named co-captain of the cross country team ... Presented with team's Most Inspirational Award as a junior, and the Most Improved Award following her sophomore year ... Voted Freshman of the Year ... Named to Honor Roll all four years ... Member of the Junior Honor Guard.

PERSONAL: Daughter of Bruce and Dana Mobley ... Has five younger siblings: Nick, Kelsea, Lane, Josh and Mikayla ... Liberal Arts major with a minor in sports medicine ... Chose Pepperdine because "of its beautiful location, close-knit community, Christian values, and its enthusiastic cross country team."

FAVORITES: Favorite hobbies include hanging out with friends, going to the beach, surfing and watching movies ... Loves cross country and track because "of the accomplished feeling it gives you; I love finishing a race and knowing that I tried my hardest" ... Favorite movie is The Proposal ...
