Both the men's and women's teams had large graduating classes depart the program.
Nick Mosey spent the fall 2012 season working as an assistant coach with the Pepperdine cross country team.
Mosey, a 2009 graduate of UC Irvine, was a four-year letterwinner for the Anteaters' cross country and track and field squads. As a senior he was team captain, and earned the Big West Conference Scholar Athlete award in 2006, '07, '08 and '09.
In 2006, Mosey finished 45th overall at the NCAA Cross Country West Regional. His best finish at the conference championship came during the 2006 season when he finished in 13th place with a time of 26:55.1 over 8,000 meters. His 8,000-meter personal best is 24:34.
On the track, Mosey picked up all-conference honors after placing third in the 10,000 meters behind a time of 31:42.67 at the 2008 Big West Championship. His 10,000 meter personal-best mark of 30:28.99 is currently #10 on the UC Irvine all-time list.
After graduating with a degree in international studies, Mosey enrolled in the Gonzaga University School of Law in the fall of 2009. During his three years in Spokane, Mosey was a volunteer assistant coach for the Bulldogs' cross country and track and field squads.
Mosey earned his Juris Doctorate in May 2012.
In high school, Mosey earned all-state honors and led his team to a state title in 2004 at Servite High School in Anaheim and was a three-time All-CIF runner.
Mosey currently resides in Yorba Linda, Calif. He continues to compete in trail races and half marathons and is pursuing a career as a franchise attorney.
