Waves Drop Game Two to Seton Hall 3-1
Austin Davidson and Bryan Langlois Collect Two Hits against Pirates

MALIBU, Calif. – Pepperdine struggled offensively for the second straight game and dropped a 3-1 decision to Seton Hall in non-conference action Saturday at Eddy D. Field Stadium. The Waves (7-7), playing without the services of three regulars could not come up with the key hits against the Pirates (2-9), who collected the road series victory.
Seton Hall got on the scoreboard first in the second inning collecting a pair of singles and scored a run with two outs on a wild pitch by righthander Corey Miller (Laguna Nigel, Calif./Serra HS). The Pirates increased their lead to 2-0 in the sixth on a pair of singles and a sacrifice fly. After a throwing error by Pepperdine, Scott Kalamar slapped an RBI double down the right field line for a 3-0 lead heading to the bottom of the seventh.
Pepperdine pushed its lone run of the gam across in the seventh. After a one-out single by Langlois and a groundout, the Waves right fielder advanced to third on a wild pitch and scored on an RBI single from Ranny Lowe (Granada Hills, Calif./Notre Dame HS).
Miller (2-2) turned in a solid outing, allowing two runs off five hits in 6.0 innings with three strikeouts and three walks. Josh Prevost (1-0) collected the win for Seton Hall, allowing one run off five hits with seven strikeouts and no walks in 6.1 innings. Eric Karch (Fresno, Calif./Clovis West HS) tossed 2.0 innings of relief, allowing one unearned run off one hit and struck out a pair. Jackson McClelland (Beaumont, Calif./Redlands East Valley West HS) tossed a scoreless ninth.
Brian Gilbert collected the save for the Pirates, going 2.0 scoreless innings with no hits and two strikeouts. Kalamar finished his day 2-for-3, while Ryan Sullivan also collected a pair of hits. Both teams recorded seven hits in the contest.
