MALIBU, Calif. – The Pacific Tigers scored runs in the eighth and ninth innings Saturday, defeating the Pepperdine baseball team 6-4 at Eddy D. Field Stadium and evening the three-game series at one win a piece.

Jake Jenkins came in with the Tigers trailing 4-3 and tossed 4.1 innings of scoreless relief, giving up just one hit to get the win.

The Waves struck first in the third inning, scoring on a groundout and then a single from Aaron Brown (Chatsworth, Calif./Chatsworth HS). Pacific answered with three runs in the top of the fifth, as the Waves walked in a pair with the bases loaded and the Tigers scored on a fielder’s choice.

Pepperdine would get two runs and the lead back in the bottom half of the inning when Austin Davidson (Oxnard, Calif./Oxnard HS) drove in Hutton Moyer (San Diego, Calif./Cathedral Catholic HS) on a groundout and Brown was brought home after a two-out single by a Brad Anderson (Yorba Linda, Calif./Esperanza HS) double. Once again the Tigers answered, though, scoring on a single by JJ Wagner to even the game at 4-4.

Pacific got what ended up being the game-winning run in the eighth inning on an Eric Lockwood RBI single. The Tigers added another run in the ninth with a sacrifice fly and Jenkins retired the side in order in the bottom of the ninth to seal the win.
