Austin Davidson Named WCC Player of the Week
Sophomore Third Baseman Hit .714 with Five Doubles and a Home Run against Santa Clara

MALIBU, Calif. – Pepperdine sophomore third baseman Austin Davidson turned in the best offensive weekend of his young career in a league sweep against Santa Clara and captured Rawlings West Coast Conference Player of the Week honors. Davidson (Oxnard, Calif./Oxnard HS) hit .714 (10-14) with five doubles, a home run, three RBI and seven runs scored against the Broncos.
The Pepperdine third baseman slugged 1.286, had an on-base percentage of .733 and recorded six hits in consecutive at-bats at one point – double, double, single, double, home run, single. In the finale, a 19-4 triumph, Davidson was 3-for-5 with a double, a home run, and a career-high five runs scored. During the series, Davidson elevated his batting average .071 points and is now hitting .341 on the season.
It is the first weekly award for Davidson and the second collected by a Wave this season. Sam Meyer (Los Altos, Calif./St. Francis HS) took home the hardware in week one.
UP NEXT FOR THE WAVES: Pepperdine opens a four-game road trip, beginning Tuesday, March 26 at No. 23 Cal Poly. First pitch against the Mustangs is set for 6:00 p.m. at Baggett Stadium. The Waves then travel to Provo, Utah for a WCC series against Brigham Young starting Thursday, March 28.
