MALIBU, Calif. – Sophomore infielder Drew Hacker and sophomore righthander Mat Snider earned West Coast Conference All-Academic selection as announced today by the league office. It marks the first time two Waves have made the list since 2006.
Hacker (Moorpark, Calif./Oaks Christian HS) has turned in a solid effort on the field and has started 18 WCC games for Pepperdine at shortstop this season, batting an impressive .302 with three doubles and eight RBI. Hacker collected a walk-off single in a 4-3 victory against Loyola Marymount (3/17/13).
Snider (Los Altos, Calif./Los Altos HS) has made 15 appearances out of the Waves bullpen, posting a 1-0 record with a 2.60 ERA and a strikeout/walk ratio of 12/6 in 17.1 innings. Snider picked up the relief win at USC (3/12/13), going 3.0 innings with three strikeouts.
Hacker and Snider are both pre-business administration majors. The pair is the first to represent the Waves on the list since Nick Kliebert and WCC Player of the Year Chad Tracy were both tabbed for the squad in 2006.
