MALIBU, Calif. – West Coast Conference Player of the Year Jordan Qsar of the Pepperdine baseball team was named to Collegiate Baseball Newspaper’s All-America first team, the newspaper announced Thursday Morning. It is the first such award of Qsar’s career.
The magazine recognized 17 athletes on the first team. The article states, “The 17-man first team, chosen by performances up to regional playoffs and picked by the staff of Collegiate Baseball newspaper, features 12 conference players or pitchers of the year.” Qsar received the honor as a utility player, thanks to his year both at the plate and on the mound.
Qsar had a career year in which he hit .271 overall, and .330 in West Coast Conference play. He had 13 home runs, 12 doubles and 63 RBI on the year while playing a mix of center and right field.
