Stacy Davis was named to the preseason All-West Coast Conference first team during the WCC's basketball media day on Thursday, and Pepperdine learned that it will be playing in the WCC Game of the Week three times this season.
Davis (Laveen, Ariz./Fairfax HS), a 6-foot-6 sophomore forward, was named the WCC's Newcomer of the Year last season after he led all freshmen with 11.2 points and 7.3 rebounds. He also was picked to the WCC All-Freshman team and the All-WCC honorable mention squad. He ranked seventh in the conference in rebounding.
The WCC announced its conference television and digital media package today and fans will be able to watch all 18 of Pepperdine's league games this season via one platform or another.
Pepperdine will appear in the WCC Game of the Week - which appears locally on Time Warner Cable SportsNet as well as on ROOT Sports and Comcast SportsNet, plus digitally at TheW.tv - on January 4 at San Francisco, February 8 at home against Saint Mary's and February 15 at Portland.
Pepperdine will make four additional appearances on Time Warner Cable SportsNet: December 30 vs. BYU, January 16 vs. Gonzaga, February 1 vs. Loyola Marymount, and February 13 at Gonzaga.
The Waves' game at BYU on January 9 will be shown on BYUtv. The road game at San Diego on January 11 will be shown on FOX Sports San Diego but will also be available via TheW.tv. It was previously announced that Pepperdine's road game at Loyola Marymount on February 27 will be on ESPNU.
TheW.tv, the conference's new digital network, will show each of the games previously listed. It will also have the following Pepperdine contests: January 2 at Santa Clara, January 23 at Saint Mary's, January 25 at Pacific, February 6 vs. Pacific, and February 27 vs. San Francisco.
WaveCasts, available through PepperdineSports.com, will show the December 28 vs. San Diego and January 18 vs. Portland contests.
The regular-season finale, a home game on March 1 vs. Santa Clara, is one of three wild-card options for TheW.tv. If it's not selected, it will be shown via WaveCasts.
