Men's Golf Wraps Up First Spring Tournament
The Waves will return to action in two weeks in Palm Springs.

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. - The Pepperdine men's golf team wrapped up its first tournament of the spring season with a 14th-place finish at the Sea Best Invitational on Tuesday.
TPC Sawgrass and the par-72 Players Stadium Course was a big challenge, as the Waves shot 320-308-307 for a total of 935 over the two days.
Senior Jeremy Sanders (Chatsworth, Calif./New Community Jewish HS/Redlands) and sophomore Frederick Wedel (The Woodlands, Texas/The Woodlands HS) both tied for 27th place, the team's best, with totals of 230. Sanders, who shot 78-74-78, had a total of eight birdies for the tournament. Wedel, who bounced back from a rough first round to shoot 82-74-74, also had a total of eight birdies.
Junior Kevin DeHuff (Coto de Caza, Calif./Santa Margarita Catholic HS) tied for 46th place at 234 (78-80-76), senior Parker Page (Louisville, Ky./Ballard HS) tied for 60th place at 241 (82-80-79) and sophomore Cameron Davison (Duncan, B.C., Canada/Duncan Christian HS) was 79th at 257 (83-88-86).
The Players Stadium Course is famous for its par-3, 128-yard 17th hole, known as the "Island Green" for the fact that the green is nearly entirely surrounded by water. Both Sanders and Wedel had a birdie during the second round and pars the other two rounds, while Page posted par each of the three rounds.
The Waves continue their spring season at The Prestige at PGA West in Palm Springs, Calif., on Feb. 17-19.
