Anderson Leads Men's Golf at USC Collegiate Invitational
Josh Anderson of the Pepperdine men's golf team finished in a tie for eighth to lead the Pepperdine men's golf team at the USC Collegiate Invitational on Tuesday, while the Waves took 10th place as a team.

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif. - Josh Anderson of the Pepperdine men's golf team finished in a tie for eighth to lead the Pepperdine men's golf team at the USC Collegiate Invitational on Tuesday, while the Waves took 10th place as a team.
The 15 schools got halfway through the second round on Monday, and finished it up and played the third round today at the par-71 North Ranch Country Club.
Pepperdine had some highs and lows during the two days. The Waves were in 12th after the first round, got up to seventh after the second round and settled for 10th with a total of 878 (296-287-295). The Waves did finish ahead of two higher-ranked opponents, as they were two strokes better than West Coast Conference rival San Diego and three ahead of Washington.
Anderson (Murrieta, Calif./Murrieta Valley HS), a junior, went from 36th to 26th to a tie for eighth after a 1-over 214 (72-73-69). He had five birdies during his final round.
Senior Andrew Putnam (University Place, Wash./Life Christian Academy) tied for 27th at 218 (74-70-74), sophomore Johnny Mac Arthur (Newhall, Calif./Hart HS) tied for 40th at 221 (76-70-75), senior Austyn Karle (Scottsdale, Ariz./Notre Dame Prep) tied for 75th at 233 (79-74-80) and freshman Chris Capo (Woodland Hills, Calif./Crespi Carmelite HS) took 77th at 234 (74-83-77).
Playing as an individual, freshman Parker Page (Louisville, Ky./Ballard HS) tied for 63rd at 228 (77-75-76).
The Waves are next in action at the General Hackler Championship in Myrtle Beach, S.C., on March 13-14.
