Men's Golf Places 11th at ASU Thunderbird Invitational
Next up for the Waves is the WCC Championships from April 15-17.

Frederick Wedel, Kevin DeHuff and Jeremy Sanders shot even-par 71s to lead the Pepperdine men's golf team during Sunday's third and final round of the Arizona State Thunderbird Invitational, but unfortunately the Waves weren't able to move up as a team and left with an 11th-place finish.
The Waves entered the day in 11th and stayed there after a final-round 4-over 288, giving them a total of 868 (287-293-288) over the three days at the par-71 Karsten Golf Course.
Wedel (The Woodlands, Texas/The Woodlands HS), a freshman, moved up 12 spots due to his 71 and had the best finish of any of the Waves, a tie for 23rd place with a 2-over 215 (70-74-71). He had four birdies on the day.
Playing as an individual, freshman Cody McManus (Phoenix, Ariz./Desert Vista HS) was next, as he tied for 30th place with a 3-over 216 (74-68-74). Close behind him was junior Parker Page (Louisville, Ky./Ballard HS), who tied for 33rd with a 4-over 217 (69-73-75).
DeHuff (Coto de Caza, Calif./Santa Margarita Catholic HS), a sophomore, and Sanders (Chatsworth, Calif./New Community Jewish HS/Redlands), a junior, both moved up 18 places in the standings and tied for 50th place overall with 8-over 221s. DeHuff shot 79-71-71 and Sanders was 73-77-71. Sanders had four birdies and DeHuff had three on Sunday.
Redshirt freshman Nick Thomas (Westlake Village, Calif./Chaminade College Prep/California) tied for 76th place at 226 (75-75-76).
The Waves' next tournament is the West Coast Conference Championships, set for April 15-17 at Gold Mountain Golf Club in Bremerton, Wash.
