Men's Golf Closes Gap After Two Rounds at WCC Championships
Jeremy Sanders shot a 2-under 70 to help lead the Waves to an even-par 288 on Tuesday.

Though Pepperdine is currently in third place, an even-par 288 on Tuesday gives the Waves a two-day total of a 9-over 585 (297-288), just five strokes behind Saint Mary's and three back of San Francisco. The 288 was the second-best score of the day.
The Waves, Gaels and Dons will tee off the #10 hole at the par-72 Gold Mountain Golf Club beginning at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday for the third and final round.
Junior Jeremy Sanders (Chatsworth, Calif./New Community Jewish HS/Redlands) had a 2-under 70 and true freshmen Cody McManus (Phoenix, Ariz./Desert Vista HS) and Frederick Wedel (The Woodlands, Texas/The Woodlands HS) turned in even-par 72s to lead the Waves on Tuesday.
McManus is on the verge of a season-best finish, as he's tied for ninth place with a 1-over 145 (73-72). Sanders moved up nine spots and is now in 16th place with a 3-over 147 (77-70).
Wedel (76-72) and junior Parker Page (Louisville, Ky./Ballard HS) are tied for 17th place with 4-over 148s, and sophomore Kevin DeHuff (Coto de Caza, Calif./Santa Margarita Catholic HS) is tied for 22nd place with a 5-over 149 (75-74).
Sanders' round on Tuesday included five birdies, while Wedel had four, DeHuff and McManus each had three and Page recorded two.
Pepperdine has won 17 WCC titles, more than any other school.
