Men's Golf Begins Play at Warrior Princeville Makai Invitational

Unfortunately, the Waves couldn't sustain a good start and are in 13th place with two rounds to go. Pepperdine's four scoring players played the front nine with a combined total of 4-under, but the squad ended up with a 2-over 290 at the par-72 Princeville Makai Golf Club.
Sanders (Chatsworth, Calif./New Community Jewish HS/Redlands) and Wedel (The Woodlands, Texas/The Woodlands HS) are tied for 30th place. Sanders, a senior, had a team-high total of six birdies, three in the front and three in the back. Wedel, a sophomore, had a total of three birdies to go with 14 pars and one double-bogey.
Senior Parker Page (Louisville, Ky./Ballard HS) and sophomore Nick Thomas (Westlake Village, Calif./Chaminade College Prep/California) both shot 74s and are tied for 56th place. Page had three birdies and Thomas had two. Junior Kevin DeHuff (Coto de Caza, Calif./Santa Margarita Catholic HS) shot a 77 and is tied for 80th place. He had two birdies and finished his day with an eagle on the par-5 18th.
