Men's Golf Finishes Strong at Warrior Wave Intercollegiate
Wedel, Mac Arthur and Sanders all end up with season-best finishes.

Frederick Wedel's 5-under 211 and tie for fifth place, the Pepperdine men's golf team finished off its best performance of the fall season on Wednesday, taking fifth place as a team at the Warrior Wave Princeville Intercollegiate.
The tournament, the last of the fall for the Waves, was being co-hosted by Pepperdine and Hawai'i at the par-72 Makai Golf Club at the St. Regis Princeville Resort. The Waves shot a 3-over 867 (291-295-291) over the three days.
Wedel (The Woodlands, Texas/The Woodlands), a freshman, posted the first two sub-par rounds of his career at the tournament, including a final-round 2-under 70. After starting on the seventh hole, he was 1-over before a stretch of birdies on the 14th, 16th and 18th holes, and then ended with four straight pars.
Senior Johnny Mac Arthur (Newhall, Calif./Hart HS) had his best result of the fall, tying for 18th place with a 1-over 217 (73-70-74). He had four birdies during his final round. Junior Jeremy Sanders (Chatsworth, Calif./New Community Jewish HS/Univ. of Redlands) also had a season best, tying for 23rd place with a 2-over 218 (74-69-75). His day included five birdies.
Junior Parker Page (Louisville, Ky./Ballard HS) improved his score each day and ended up tied for 29th place at 221 (75-74-72). His even-par final round included three birdies. Sophomore Kevin DeHuff (Coto de Caza, Calif./Santa Margarita Catholic HS) tied for 74th at 234 (83-75-76).
The Waves resume play in the spring at the Arizona Intercollegiate on Jan. 28-29.
