MALIBU, Calif. -The Northern Trust Open will host "Pepperdine Day" with a special offer for Waves fans during the first round of its PGA Tour event on Thursday, February 13.
Fans can buy a one-day ticket for $65 - available at www.northerntrust.com/pepperdine - and $30 will be donated back to Pepperdine's golf programs (use the special offer code "Pepperdine").
Additionally, Pepperdine alum Michael Putnam, back on the PGA Tour after being the top money winner in 2013 on the Web.com Tour, has announced that he will donate 10 percent of his winnings at the Northern Trust Open to the men's golf program.
The Northern Trust Open is held at Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades (which is just about a dozen miles east of Pepperdine's campus).
The Pepperdine ticket will allow access to the tournament grounds and to the Palisades Club, a new open-air and tented hospitality venue with patios overlooking the signature par-4 10th hole. Upgraded food and beverages are available for purchase within the club. The first 100 people in attendance will be provided a special "Pepperdine Day" Northern Trust Open hat. Appearances are planned by representatives of the golf teams, the Pepperdine Pom Squad and Willie the Wave.
The men's golf team begins the spring season at the Sea Best Invitational in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., on February 3-4. One week later, the women's golf squad (ranked sixth nationally by Golfweek/Sagarin) tees off at the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge in Palos Verdes, Calif., on February 9-11.
