Sanders Named to Men's Golf Preseason All-WCC Team
The senior leads the Waves in scoring this season.

MALIBU, Calif. - Pepperdine men's golfer Jeremy Sanders was named to the All-West Coast Conference preseason team today as the league office announced the 10-member first team and the results of the coaches' poll.
The Waves were picked to finish sixth out of nine teams. The WCC Championships will be contested on April 14-16 at Gold Mountain Golf Club in Bremerton, Wash.
Sanders (Chatsworth, Calif./New Community Jewish HS/Redlands), a senior, led the Waves in scoring last year with a 73.96 average, and he's tops again this season with a 73.20 average after five tournaments. He's been the Waves' top finisher (or tied for best) at three of the five events. He has two top-20 results this season.
The order of finish as predicted by the coaches is BYU, San Diego, San Francisco, Saint Mary's, Santa Clara, Pepperdine, Pacific, Loyola Marymount and Gonzaga. The Waves have won 17 conference titles, more than any other school.
Joining Sanders on the preseason first team was Carlos Briones (Santa Clara), Sebastian Crookall-Nixon (San Francisco), Grant Forrest (San Diego), Justin Keiley (BYU), Cory McElyea (San Francisco), Joe Parkinson (BYU), Dalan Refioglu (Saint Mary's), Jordan Rodgers (BYU) and Tyler Torano (Loyola Marymount).
Pepperdine has five regular-season events remaining prior to the WCC Championships. Next up is The Prestige at PGA West in Palm Springs, Calif., on Feb. 17-19.
