Men's Golf Heads to Tennessee for Third Fall Tournament

EVENT INFO -- The tournament will be held at the par-72, 7,147-yard Blackthorn Club at The Ridges in Jonesborough, Tenn. Eighteen holes will be played each day between Friday and Sunday (Oct. 12-14). Live scoring will be provided at www.golfstat.com.
FIELD -- Pepperdine is one of 13 teams in the field, along with host East Tennessee State, Army, Coastal Carolina, Furman, Memphis, Missouri, Penn State, Tennessee, UNC Wilmington, Virginia, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest.
PEPPERDINE LINEUP -- The Waves will utilize a lineup that includes three returners and two newcomer. Senior Johnny Mac Arthur (Newhall, Calif./Hart HS), juniors Parker Page (Louisville, Ky./Ballard HS) and Jeremy Sanders (Chatsworth, Calif./New Community Jewish HS/Univ. of Redlands), sophomore Kevin DeHuff (Coto de Caza, Calif./Santa Margarita Catholic HS) and freshman Cody McManus (Phoenix, Ariz./Desert Vista HS) are the five.
NOTABLES -- Johnny Mac Arthur is the Waves' top returner. He had a stroke average of 72.86 last season, second on the team, and qualified for the NCAA West Regional as an individual last spring. His scoring average has improved by multiple strokes each year at Pepperdine ... Parker Page is the last Wave to win a tournament, as he was co-medalist at the Folino Invitational in spring 2012 ... Jeremy Sanders was a two-time Division III All-American first teamer at Redlands and had two top-five finishes at the NCAA Division III Championships before transferring to Pepperdine this fall.
ROSTER -- Pepperdine's roster saw a good deal of change in the offseason. Of Pepperdine's 10-man roster, four saw action for the Waves last season. The newcomers consist of four true freshmen, one transfer and one student-athlete who didn't compete last season. The breakdown is one senior, two juniors, three sophomores and four freshmen.
PEPPERDINE GOLF HISTORY -- Thanks to its victory at the 1997 NCAA Championships, Pepperdine will always be known on a national level for its outstanding men's golf program. The Waves have made eight appearances at the NCAA Championships since 1993 and have made NCAA Regional berths in 19 of the last 21 years. In the West Coast Conference, they've won a league-best 17 championships since 1987 and have finished either first or second in 21 of the last 26 years.
