Fanselow Prevails at NCAA Singles Championship

Senior Sebastian Fanselow one of eight players left standing in the NCAA Singles Championship.

CAREER: A three-time All-American (twice in singles and once in doubles) ... Made the All-WCC first team in singles all four years (one of only two Pepperdine players to do so since the awards were introduced in 1998) ... Earned All-WCC honors in doubles three times (twice on the first team) ... Posted career singles records of 112-37 overall and 76-27 in duals ... His 76 career dual victories are tied for seventh on Pepperdine's all-time list ... Posted career doubles records of 91-33 overall and 77-26 in duals.

PEPPERDINE 2009-10: Earned ITA All-American status in singles as a senior ... Went 33-12 overall and 17-10 in duals, including 15-10 at the #1 position ... Ended the season ranked #29 by the ITA in singles ... Named the WCC Player of the Year and to the All-WCC first team in both singles and doubles ... Reached the Round of 16 at the NCAA Singles Tournament, upsetting #7-ranked Alex Lacroix of Florida in the second round ... Had a 15-10 record against nationally ranked players ... Won 11 singles matches in a row at one point ... In doubles, went 21-15 overall and 15-11 in duals ... Played primarly with Llompart, and the duo went 16-7 overall and 13-5 in duals ... Went 29-5 overall in doubles, all with Altmann, Was named the WCC Singles Player of the Month in March and won the doubles award with Altmann in February, March and April ... PEPPERDINE 2007-08: Earned ITA All-American honors in singles as a sophomore ... Named All-WCC first team in singles ... Ended the season ranked #22 nationally by the ITA ... Led the Waves in wins with 31 ... Went 31-6 overall (20-4 in duals) ... Went 17-3 at the #2 position ... Went 20-7 overall in doubles (17-6 in duals) ... Won his first three matches at the NCAA Singles Championship before losing in the quarterfinals (which ended a 21-match winning streak) ... Named the WCC's Player of the Month in singles for April ... During the fall tournament season, won the consolation title at ITA Polo Ralph Lauren All-American Tennis Championship and reached the Round of 16 at the ITA Indoor Championships.

PEPPERDINE 2006-07: Ended his freshman season ranked 55th nationally by the ITA ... Named the WCC Freshman of the Year and made the All-WCC first team in singles and the second team in doubles with James Lemke ... Went 23-6 overall in singles, including a 13-3 record at the No. 2 position ... Went 21-6 in doubles, all with Lemke ... At the NCAA Singles Championships, defeated Martin Stiegwardt (Georgia State) in the first round before falling to John Isner (Georgia).
