Men's Tennis Opens Play at Jack Kramer Club Collegiate Invitational
Francis Alcantara advances to the singles quarterfinal at the Jack Kramer Club Collegiate Invitational.

ROLLING HILLS ESTATES, Calif. – Francis Alcantara of the Pepperdine men’s tennis team advanced through two rounds of singles on day one of the Jack Kramer Club Collegiate Invitational. Additionally, Alcantara teamed up with Kento Tanaka-Tamaki and found success on the doubles court.
Alcantara (Cagayan de Oro, Philippines/Fresno State), the tournament’s No. 2 seed, opened action with a dominant 6-0, 6-3 triumph over Rishabh Raman of Washington. He followed that up with a 6-3, 6-4 win versus SMU’s Nate Lammons in the round of 16.
In doubles, Alcantara and Tanaka-Tamaki (Kihei, Hawaii/St. Anthony Junior-Senior HS) teamed up for the first time and downed Jonathan Poon and Rafael Davidian of UC Irvine 8-5.
Yesterday at the Southern California Intercollegiate Championship, Alexander Solonin (Tarzana, Calif./Thousand Oaks HS) snagged the “W” vs. Christian Wickenhaus before making his exit in the second round.
Play continues for Alcantara and Tanaka-Tamaki at the Jack Kramer Club tomorrow and runs through Sunday.
