Alcantara Reaches Singles Final
Francis Alcantara enters tomorrow's singles final on a six-match win streak.

ROLLING HILLS ESTATES, Calif. – Francis Alcantara won twice today to reach the singles final at the Jack Kramer Club Collegiate Invitational. The senior will face Tony Lupieri of Baylor on Sunday morning.
Alcantara (Cagayan de Oro, Philippines/Fresno State) won twice yesterday to advance to the quarterfinal round today. After topping BYU’s David Doehring 6-3, 6-0, Alcantara went up against Mischa Nowicki.
The Wave won the first set 6-3 versus the Southern Methodist player, and then proceeded to claim set two by a 6-3 tally.
#71 Alcantara, the tournament’s No. 2 seed, will face top seeded and #79-ranked Lupieri tomorrow morning. The doubles final is scheduled for a 9 a.m. start, with singles to follow.
In the doubles draw, Alcantara and Kento Tanaka-Tamaki (Kihei, Hawaii/St. Anthony Junior-Senior HS) made their exit after a narrow 8-7 setback in the round of 16.
