Senior Mitchell Penning graduated this semester after four years in the Waves' family, earning a B.S. in International Business and a B.A. in Religion.
David Wieczorek led the team with a career-high 28 kills on a career-best .591 attack ouput.

PEPPERDINE CAREER: Three-time MPSF All-Academic performer and four-time Pepperdine Scholar-Athlete … After four seasons donning the Waves’ uniform, Penning has played in 269 total sets and started in 70 matches of 72 matches played … He boasts a .381 hitting percentage after smashing down 395 kills with only 93 errors on 796 swings … Penning averages 1.48 kills/set, 0.17 aces/set, 0.36 digs/set, 2.24 points/set and 1.06 blocks/set … The middle blocker has also amassed 16 assists, 46 aces, 94 digs, 286 total blocks including 17 solo rejections and 592 total points … He ranks in the Pepperdine records for the third highest hitting percentage all-time in the rally scoring era with a .846 with (11-0-13) against BYU (3/20/15), while in the same game his career-high kills match … He tied his career-high kill match in his senior campaign with 14 kills against UC Santa Barbara (2/8/17) … He amassed a career-best nine blocks against UCLA (2/11/17) … He put down a career-high five aces against Cal Baptist (4/4/15).
