No. 4 Stanford Defeats No. 9 Pepperdine 11-3

PALO ALTO, Calif. - The Pepperdine men's water polo team continued the grueling Mountain Pacific Sports Federation season with a 11-3 loss to No. 4 Stanford. Danny White led the Waves with two goals, while senior All-American Bence Valics had seven saves in goal.
The No. 9 ranked Waves couldn't muster any offense in the first half, trailing 6-0 at intermission. Pepperdine (8-9, 0-3 MPSF) then scored three goals in the third with White (Oxnard, Calif./Rio Mesa HS) netting a pair and Luke Hewko (Santa Ana, Calif./Servite HS) adding to his already impressive season with his 51st goal.
White's two goals in the third period made the score 5-2 but the Waves would not get any closer as they were outscored the rest of the way 6-1. Stanford (13-4, 2-1 MPSF) had a quartet of players score two goals while Alex Bowen led all scorers with a hat trick.
Pepperdine returns home to the newly renovated Raleigh Runnels Memorial Pool this Saturday, November 2nd when they take on No. 7 Long Beach State.
