LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The Pepperdine men's water polo team continued the grueling Mountain Pacific Sports Federation season against No. 2 USC Sunday afternoon. The Waves weren't able to get on track offensively as they fell, 13-3.

Leading the way for the Waves (9-11, 1-5 MPSF) was junior ATK Marko Madaras (Eger, Hungary//Golden West College). Madaras continues his impressive season by finding the back of the net twice, while senior Danny White (Oxnard, Calif./Rio Mesa HS) also tallied a goal.

The No. 7 ranked Waves couldn't muster any offense in the first quarter, falling behind 2-0 after one. White got Pepperdine on the board with a goal two minutes into the second to make it 2-1. However, the Trojans (22-2, 4-1 MPSF) would score six unanswered goals to put the Waves away for good.

Senior All-American goalie Bence Valics Eger (Hungary/Szilagyi Erzsebet Secondary) had a game high 11 saves to lead Pepperdine in the cage.

For the Trojans, Rex Butler had four goals while Mace Rapsey contributed three. Also scoring for USC was Kostas Genidounias, Nikola Vavic, Ivan Kustic, Mac Carden and Zach Lucas.

Pepperdine returns home to the newly renovated Raleigh Runnels Memorial Pool this Saturday when they take on No. 2 UCLA. The matchup against the Bruins begins at 11 p.m. and will be the last home match for seven Pepperdine seniors.
