Pepperdine Announces Change with Water Polo Head Coaching Position

Jan. 19, 2012

MALIBU, Calif. - Pepperdine men's water polo coach Jack Kocur has been placed on administrative leave and will not return for the 2012 season, Director of Athletics Steve Potts announced today.

"We have reached the conclusion that new leadership is necessary in our men's water polo program and the search for a new head coach will begin immediately," Potts said.

In six seasons as Pepperdine's coach, Kocur went 95-78. The Waves placed eighth at the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Tournament each of the last two seasons and finished with a 12-14 record in 2011.

Assistant coach Gary O'Brien will serve as the interim coach until a new head coach is hired.
