Women's Hoops Falls in Home Finale to San Diego
The Waves close out the regular season at San Francisco and Santa Clara next weekend.

MALIBU, Calif. - Keitra Wallace scored 14 points and Grace Leah Baughn added 12, but the Pepperdine women's basketball team lost its home finale to San Diego, 73-46, in West Coast Conference play on Saturday afternoon.
The Waves (5-22, 1-15 WCC) shot just 27.8%, compared to 47.5% for the Toreros (22-6, 11-6).
Pepperdine's shooting woes started early, as the Waves missed their first eight shots and allowed USD to jump out to a 14-0 lead. Pepperdine's first points came at 13:45 on a three-point play by junior forward Tessa Emerson (Santa Barbara, Calif./Santa Barbara HS).
After falling behind by as many as 16 in the first half, the Waves showed some life with an 8-0 run that was capped off by a three-pointer by Baughn (Norcross, Ga./Wesleyan School), making it a seven-point game at 28-21 with 3:19 left in the first half.
But the Toreros reasserted themselves and went into the halftime break with a 40-26 lead. The Waves got no closer than 13 points in the second half, and USD's largest lead was 32.
Wallace (Brea, Calif./Brea Olinda HS) had five rebounds and a team-high three steals. Baughn made four of six shots and added four rebounds. Emerson contributed nine points.
The Toreros got 23 points and six three-pointers from Malina Hood and 17 points and six assists from Amy Kame.
Pepperdine closes out the regular season on the road next weekend, visiting San Francisco (Thursday, Feb. 27, 7 p.m.) and Santa Clara (Saturday, March 1, 2 p.m.). Fans can listen to both games via WaveCasts at PepperdineSports.com.
