Pepperdine's Allie Green Named to WCC All-Freshman Team
Green was one of five freshman on the squad and was the leading scorer of the group.

MALIBU, Calif. – The West Coast Conference 2014 Women’s Basketball All-Conference Teams were announced Monday and Pepperdine’s Allie Green was named to the All-Freshman Team.
Green was one of five freshmen to earn the honor after finishing the regular season as the Waves’ fourth leading scorer.
The rookie guard played in 24 games for Pepperdine and made 17 starts, averaging 11.3 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game. Green’s 29.7 minutes per game were also fourth on the team as she shot 38.5 percent from the field and 31.9 percent from 3-point territory.
Of the five players on the All-Freshman squad, Green’s 11.3 ppg average was the highest total. She was 23rd on the conference scoring list. Green scored a season and career-high 27 points against Long Beach State early in the year and also posted a 24-point game in the Waves’ win over Santa Clara. She topped the 15-point mark six times on the year and scored in double figures 14 times.
BYU’s Jennifer Hamson was named WCC Player and Defender of the Year, and Gonzaga’s Kelly Graves was named Coach of the Year. Kiki Moore of Pacific was the conference’s Newcomer of the Year.
The Waves open WCC tournament action this week in Las Vegas, taking on Santa Clara on Thursday at 12 p.m. in the tournament’s opening game.
