Kennedy and George Invited to WNBA Camps
Senior Pepperdine women's basketball standouts Daphanie Kennedy and Teiosha George, are attending WNBA training camps this week.
“It’s always an honor when a student athlete gets an opportunity to move on to the next level and be seen by a WNBA team,” said Pepperdine Head Coach Julie Rousseau. “It’s a great accomplishment to be invited to a WNBA camp. If they make the team great, if not, they’ll move on to the next phase and play overseas.”
The 2007-08 Waves MVP, was the WCC leading scorer in conference play this season. Kennedy was ranked No. 13 in Division I women’s basketball for scoring in the 2007-08 season.
The 6-4” George, played forward for the Waves and earned a spot on several all-time lists.
“To have two players invited to the WNBA camps is tremendous for our program,” said Rousseau.
