MALIBU, Calif. - Head coach Ryan Weisenberg and the Pepperdine women's basketball program has announced the signing of Agoura High School standout Kim Jacobs for the class of 2014.
Jacobs, a 5-10 combo guard, averaged 17.7 points per game en route to a CIF section title with the Agoura Hills Chargers last season and was named CIF Southern Section Division-3AAA Player of the Year. Jacobs led the Chargers to a 60-39 victory over No. 1-seed Gahr in the title game, scoring 30 points on a night that included six 3-pointers.
"We are really excited about Kim's offensive game," said Weisenberg, who is currently in his first season as the head coach of the Waves. "She has an amazing 3-point shot and is silky smooth when handling the ball. She is really going to open up the court for us and make it very difficult for teams to defend us."
Getting set to compete in her senior year, Jacobs was an All-Los Angeles County selection as a junior and was named to two straight All-Marmonte League teams over the past two seasons.
Jacobs also competes for the California Vikings AAU team. She helped lead her team to a second place finish at the Music City Madness Tournament in Tennessee and was second in the MVP voting for the tournament.
"Best of all Kim is a great person on and off the court," said Weisenberg. "She will fit into the Waves family immediately and we are thrilled to have her."
