Senior guard Shandrika Lee scored 14 points and Kelsey Ball added a season-high nine points for the Waves. The fabulous three-some of Funn, Lee, and Ball accounted for 50 of Pepperdine's 86 total points.

During the early going, the Lady Frogs controlled the game entirely as the lead never changed. In the first 10:25 minutes, Pepperdine allowed TCU to race to a 21-8 run. The Lady Frog's Ashley Davis connected on one of her three total 3-pointers at the end of the first period as TCU took an 18-point advance heading into intermission.

Pepperdine trailed by as many as 32 (69-37) in the middle of the second, but gradually built off of Funn's jumpers to pull within 15 points (81-66) with 1:23 left on the clock. However, the Waves could not fight off a determined TCU team and the visitors took home the victory. TCU edged Pepperdine on the glass 47-43 abut the Waves committed less turnovers (21-20). The difference in the game was points in the paint as the Lady Frogs converted 36 points versus the Waves 18. Furthermore, for the first game this season, an opponent's bench outscored Pepperdine's (35-13).

Forward Kelly Greathouse scored seven points for Pepperdine and guard Shanell Law tallied a season and team-high seven boards.

For their outstanding efforts Nicole Funn (Pepperdine), Ashley Davis (TCU), Shante Williams (Florida State) and Natallia Marchanka (FDU) were named to the all-tournament team.
