Bell Moves From Poland to Czech Republic, Earns Eurobasket Award

MALIBU, Calif. -- Recent Pepperdine alum Lauren Bell is excelling professionally in Europe, as she recently moved from Poland to the Czech Republic and earned a Player of the Week award after her first game with her new team.

Bell's first game with Lokomotiva Karlovy Vary was a 19-point, 16-rebound, six-assist effort as she led her new team to a 75-59 win over SDK Karlin in mid-December, earnng her the Player of the Week award for round 15. In her second game, she scored 12 points against VSE Praha.

She had been playing for Energa Torun in Poland, and in 10 games there she averaged 3.8 points.

Bell had an outstanding four-year career for the Waves (2009-12). She earned All-West Coast Conference honorable mention honors as a 2012 senior, and made the WCC's All-Tournament team as she helped the Waves reach the championship game in 2010. She finished 18th on Pepperdine's all-time scoring list (1,095) and was third in steals (235), seventh in games played (118), eighth in three-pointers (121) and 10th in assists (323).
