Waves Get Through First Round of Spring Season
Pepperdine, ranked sixth by Golfweek/Sagarin, continues play in Palos Verdes on Monday and Tuesday.

PALOS VERDES, Calif. - Grace Na shot a 1-over 72 to lead the Pepperdine women's golf team in its first round of the spring season at the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge on Sunday.
The Waves, competing against one of the top fields they'll see all season (according to Golfweek/Sagarin, the top four teams are present, as well as seven of the top 10 and 11 of the top 25 teams), are in 11th place after shooting a 301 at the par-71 Palos Verdes Country Club.
Na (Alameda, Calif./Alameda HS), a senior who is a three-time All-American and three-time West Coast Conference Player of the Year, began her final semester of college golf with a solid round. She's tied for 16th place and had four birdies on the day.
Sophomore Marissa Chow (Honolulu, Hawaii/Iolani HS), who entered the spring ranked fifth nationally by Golfstat, is tied for 41st place after a 76 along with freshman Alessandra Arza (Asuncion, Paraguay) and junior Somin Lee (Denver, Colo./Overland HS). Lee, playing as an individual, had two birdies.
The second round is on Monday and the Waves will tee off the 10th hole at 9:15 a.m. along with Arizona State and North Carolina. The third and final round is on Tuesday.
