First Round Results Get Acrobat Reader

PALOS VERDES, Calif. - The Pepperdine women's golf team began the spring season with the first round of the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge on Monday, and the Waves are tied for 10th place with two rounds still to come.

Pepperdine shot a 306 at the par-71 Palos Verdes Golf Club and is tied with Wake Forest. It's a very strong field, with six of Golfstat's top 10 in attendance. Nine of the 16 schools are rated in the top 25 and 15 of the 16 are in the top 50. Play continues with single rounds on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Sophomore Somin Lee (Denver, Colo./Overland HS) had the best day for the Waves, as her 3-over 74 put her into a tie for 19th place. She had a team-high three birdies as well.

Junior Grace Na (Alameda, Calif./Alameda HS) is tied for 30th at 75, freshman Marissa Chow (Honolulu, Hawaii/Iolani HS) is tied for 53rd at 78, junior Danielle Gillaspy (Santa Maria, Calif./St. Joseph's HS) is tied for 60th at 79 and sophomore Alina Ching (Honolulu, Hawaii/Punahou School) is tied for 78th at 82. Playing as an individual, junior Liv Cheng (Auckland, New Zealand) is tied for 69th at 80.
