The Waves are now in 11th place with a two-day total of 602 (307-295) at the par-72 University of Texas Golf Club. The third and final round is on Tuesday, which will also be the final round of the fall season for the Waves.
Junior Grace Na (Alameda, Calif./Alameda HS) continued her torrid start to the season with a 2-under 70. Though she didn't move in the standings and is still tied for fifth place with a 3-under 141 (71-70), it was the seventh time in 11 rounds this fall that she's recorded a below-par score.
Na, a two-time All-American and West Coast Conference Player of the Year, started on the 10th tee and had three birdies on the back nine. After bogeys on the first and second holes, Na responded with a birdie on the third hole and then finished her round with six straight pars.
She lowered her season stroke average to 71.27 in the process. Na finished in the top five at each of her first three tournaments this season and for her career she's had 10 top 10s and 16 top 20s in 20 starts.
After Na, freshman Marissa Chow (Honolulu, Hawaii/Iolani HS) is tied for 35th place at 149 (75-74), sophomore Somin Lee (Denver, Colo./Overland HS) is tied for 62nd at 155 (79-76), sophomore Alina Ching (Honolulu, Hawaii/Punahou School) is tied for 66th at 157 (82-75) and junior Liv Cheng (Auckland, New Zealand) is tied for 72nd at 159 (83-76). Cheng had three birdies during her round on Monday and Ching, Chow and Lee each had two.
