Pepperdine In Third Place After Two Rounds Of The Comcast/Dick McGuire Invitational

Junior Rachel Kyono and sophomore Carolina Llano combined to shoot 9-under par on Friday and help the No. 15 Pepperdine women's golf team maintain its third place standing following two rounds of the Comcast/Dick McGuire Invitational at The Championship Course in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Host New Mexico shot an 11-under par score of 281 on Friday and is in first place following 36 holes with an 8-under par score 576. Oklahoma fired a 7-under 285 and is in second place with a 1-over par total of 585.
Pepperdine carded a 3-under 289 on Friday is 11-over par with a 595 total. Tulsa (598) is in fourth place and Texas Tech rounds out the Top five with 27-over par score of 611.
New Mexico's Kailin Downs and Oklahoma State's Karin Sjodin share the top spot in the individual standings with 8-under par scores of 138. Following a 6-under par 67 on Friday, Llano is in third place, two shots back at 6-under 140.
Tulsa's Suzie Fisher shot the low round of the day on Friday, carding a 7-under 66, and is in fourth place at 2-under par 144. New Mexico's Katrina Leckovic and UNLV's Sunny Oh are tied for fifth with 1-under par scores of 145.
Kyono shot a 3-under par 70 on Friday, and long with freshman Eileen Vargas, is tied for 14th place with 3-over par scores of 149.
The tournament concludes with the final 18 holes scheduled for Saturday.
