"Andrea is an exceptional young lady and we are excited to have her join our team next fall," Gibbs said. "She brings tremendous international experience and has played golf all over the world representing the Phillippines National Team. We look forward to Andrea representing and playing for the Waves over the next four years."

"I am looking forward to spending my college years at Pepperdine University because I believe the school will hone me into a good student with its educational curriculum and train me to become a better golfer with its athletics program," Unson said. "With the guidance and supervision of Coach Laurie Gibbs and Coach Leanne Craig as well as the support of my future teammates, I believe I will become the best student-athlete God meant me to be."
She's been the medalist at U.S. Amateur qualifiying events in both 2010 and 2011. She advanced to match play at the 2011 U.S. Women's Amateur. Unson has excelled at golf at an early age.
