Why she chose Pepperdine:
“The second I stepped foot on the campus for a soccer camp I knew it was where I was meant to go. I also loved that Pepperdine created well rounded students. They had everything I was looking for in a college, especially the faith aspect; that was a big factor for me.”

Head Coach Tim Ward on Jamie:
“ We are super excited about the addition of Jamie to our defensive unit. She is a tall, strong, and gifted athlete, who possesses wonderful soccer qualities.  She comes from a highly successful club program in Northern California and played with current Wave Nicole Fetsch. She was the first to commit from this very talented class and we feel she is a future leader for our program as she possesses strength and character.”

Why she chose Pepperdine:
“I chose Pepperdine because when I stepped on the campus I absolutely fell in love. I think the coaches are really awesome and I've always wanted to play at a nice Division I college. Pepperdine provided just that for me! Also, all I hear are great things about the academics provided at Pepperdine and education is very important to me. Lastly, who wouldn't want to go to a college that's right on the beach?!”

Head Coach Tim Ward on Brielle:
“We are very excited that we have added another talented goalkeeper to our goalkeeper's union. Our current goalkeeper Hannah Seabert is looking forward to having another training partner and I honestly believe that Brielle is going to give Hannah a run for her money in terms of starting minutes. Brielle comes from the legendary Pleasanton Rage soccer club, has had a fantastic youth career and is an amazing athlete also having had offers to play collegiate basketball. Overall, she is a perfect fit for the kind of character we recruit to Pepperdine.”

Why she chose Pepperdine:
I chose Pepperdine for various reasons, but predominately two major factors weighed heavily on my decision.  The academic excellence that is nurtured and endorsed at Pepperdine allows for me to pursue many different avenues while offering a promising future.  In addition, I chose Pepperdine because of the winning tradition as well as the excellent soccer program and coaching staff.  Most importantly, it was by the beach.  Roll waves.

Head Coach Tim Ward on Bri:
“Bri is an exciting addition to our midfield unit here at Pepperdine and as a matter of fact, we were really trying to get her to come in early (a year ago) as she is a fantastic student and could have graduated early. Nonetheless, she is a dynamo in midfield and has all the tools to be a big contributor for the Waves next fall either in a defensive or attacking midfield role. She is a former club and high school teammate of current Wave Colby Carson at Valley Christian and we are really excited about Bri's arrival.”

“I chose Pepperdine because of their sense of faith and community. I really loved how the soccer team treated each other like family and I enjoyed meeting such friendly students on campus.”

Head Coach Tim Ward on Elise:
“Elise continues a long tradition of San Diego Surf players in our program. She is a strong, tall and reliable defender, who we feel is going to be a solid collegiate defender. Besides our soccer program, Elise was attracted to Pepperdine because of our wonderful communications division and we look forward to all the cinematic excellence that she will produce here. Movies aside, we think Elise has a very bright future in the Waves soccer program and feel very fortunate that she has chosen to spend her next four years in Malibu.”

Head Coach Tim Ward on Emily:
“We are very excited about the arrival of Emily Tanaka as we continue our tradition of bringing the Aloha spirit to Malibu. We first saw Emily at Surf Cup and couldn't believe that wasn't committed yet. She is a super athletic and exciting attacking back and we believe she has all of the tools to make a significant contribution here at Pepperdine.
