MALIBU, Calif. – Many exciting improvement projects are underway this summer at Pepperdine Athletic Facilities. Tari Frahm Rokus Field, the home site of Waves women’s soccer, received many improvements during the Spring and is ready for what promises to be a successful 2013 campaign.
Head coach Tim Ward gave PepperdineSports.com a guided tour through the improvements to Pepperdine’s home pitch in part one of a three part series of summer updates for Waves Soccer.
Improvements included widening and enlarging the field by removing four inner lanes to the track that surrounds the pitch and the installation of new drainage and irrigation systems. In addition new turf was installed to complete the project.
HOME FIELD ADVANTAGE -- The Waves are always extra tough at Tari Frahm Rokus Field, where they've never had a losing season and own an all-time record of 131-41-22. The Waves posted a 27-game home undefeated regular season streak snapped by Loyola Marymount, 3-0 Oct. 19. In 2011, the Waves finished 8-1-1 at home, with the only loss coming in the first round of the NCAA Tournament to Long Beach State.
