MALIBU, Calif. -- The West Coast Conference released the 2014 Women’s Soccer All-Academic team today and seven Waves were honored including two on the first team.

Ally Holtz and Kristine Hilliard were named to the All-Academic team, while Courtney Assumma, Amanda LeCave, Micaela Cervantes, Colby Carson and Rachael Collins all earned honorable mention.

The Waves and BYU were the only two teams with multiple players on the first team and Hilliard’s 3.94 GPA was the third highest on the list.

Hilliard (North Ogden, Utah/Weber HS) has compiled a cumulative 3.94 GPA as a business administration major at Pepperdine. She was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District second team earlier this week, giving the senior three All-District honors and two WCC All-Academic team honors in her career.

Holtz (Honolulu, Hawaii/Punahou School), who leads the team and is third in the WCC with seven assists this season, also picked up CoSIDA Academic All-District honors earlier this week, being named to the first team for the first time in her career. Holtz has the fifth highest GPA on the list with a 3.90 average as a business administration major. This is the senior’s second time on the WCC All-Academic team.

At the conclusion of each athletic season, the WCC selects an all-academic squad for each WCC-sponsored sport.  To be considered, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average, while also being a significant contributor to her team.

LeCave (Windsor, Calif./Windsor HS) leads the list of Pepperdine honorable mentions with a 3.39 GPA as an integrated marketing communications major and Assumma (Temecula, Calif./Temecula Valley HS) sits right behind her with a 3.38 average as a psychology major. Cervantes (San Diego, Calif./Mission Bay HS) owns a 3.30 GPA as an English major and both Carson (Morgan Hill, Calif./Valley Christian HS) and Collins (Littleton, Colo./Valor Christian HS) have 3.24 GPA’s as they major in business administration and sports medicine respectively.
