MALIBU, Calif. – Two pairs from the Pepperdine beach volleyball team were tabbed as All-Americans, as announced by the online website on Tuesday.  Madalyn Roh, Brook Bauer, Deahna Kraft and Corinne Quiggle all earned second team recognition.

This is the second year the platform has honored All-Americans, with Quiggle and partner Brittany Howard, along with Roh and partner Delaney Knudsen earning the accolades in 2017.

In the No. 1 position, Quiggle (Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla./Ponte Vedra HS) and Kraft (Seattle, Wash./Garfield HS) played together all season at either the No. 1 or No. 2 positions, earning the duo West Coast Conference Player of the Year and Defender of the Year respectively, as well as positions on the All-WCC first team.

The pair posted a 22-7 overall record with an 8-6 mark in the top-spot and a 14-1 record in the No. 2-spot.  They have posted a 47-23 record by sets. Throughout the season, the partnership had one 14-match winning streak as well and the pair clinched eight matches for the Waves.  The duo was instrumental to the team’s success this season, helping Pepperdine to a third-consecutive West Coast Conference Championship title and a third-berth in the NCAA Tournament in Gulf Shores, Ala.

This is Quiggle’s third All-American honor as she garnered AVCA All-American honors in 2018 and VolleyballMag All-American second team acclaim in 2017 alongside then partner Brittany Howard.  It is Kraft’s second All-American nod with the AVCA honor this season as well.

On court two, Roh (Scottsdale, Ariz./Chaparral HS) and Bauer (Fort Lauderdale, Fla./St. Thomas Aquinas HS) were solid performers for Pepperdine this season, marking a 23-7 overall record, including a 14-1 output in the No. 2 position.  The duo went 11-1 against ranked opponents in the No. 2-slot.

Bauer also garnered WCC Freshman of the Year honors, while each Wave earned a spot on the All-WCC first team.  The duo was also tabbed to VolleyMob’s All-American second team as well.  This is Roh’s third All-American honor with AVCA All-American honors in 2017, as well as this season’s VolleyMob award.
