LOS ANGELES – The Pepperdine women’s swimming and diving team concluded action today at the Beach Cup, held at the Burns Aquatic Center on the campus of Loyola Marymount. Several new season-best times were set, while sophomore Jessica Mosbaugh posted the day’s top individual finish with a seventh-place showing in the 100 butterfly.
Mosbaugh (Los Alamitos, Calif./Los Alamitos HS) lowered her personal record in the 100 butterfly to 59.70 to place seventh overall. It was her second top-10 individual finish of the meet.
Nicolette Barreiro (Valencia, Calif./Hart HS) also swam her best 100 butterfly of the season, clocking a 1:01.25 to take 12th.
In the first event of the day, the 200 freestyle relay, Allison Naasz (Lodi, Calif./Tokay HS), Barreiro, Ally Bernard (Porterville, Calif./Monache HS/Cuesta College) and Kristine Pataray (West Jordan, Utah/Copper Hills HS) teamed up to deliver a time of 1:41.27. Courtney VanWinkle (Victor, N.Y./Victor Senior HS), Mosbaugh, Barreiro and Naasz picked up a fourth-place finish in the 400 medley relay. Barreiro once again turned in a season-best 100 butterfly split time of 59.79.
