Waves Finish Opening Day at PCSC Championships

LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The Pepperdine women’s swimming and diving team wrapped up the first day of competition at the PCSC Championships on Wednesday.

Two Waves made the finals in the one-meter diving competitions and another two Waves scored for Pepperdine in the 1000 free.

Lauren Stigers and Tori Occhipinti currently sit in third and fourth in the one-meter diving and will compete in the finals of the event tomorrow afternoon.

Erin Himes placed 18th in the 1000 free and Gabrielle Mathys took 20th as both swimmers scored points for the Waves. Himes improved by two spots after the prelims and Mathys improved three spots.

Competition in the four-day event continues tomorrow at East Los Angeles College, starting at 9:30 am.
